Hi! I’m Ellen 👋
I’m an Industrial Designer with 6+ years of experience in product design. My journey began with creating kitchen gadgets, wine and bar tools, and soft goods—and for the past five years, I’ve been designing and driving innovation at Snap Inc., where I’ve been developing augmented reality glasses that blend cutting-edge AR wearables with the physical world. 😎
I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Industrial Design. Originally from Seattle, I now call Los Angeles home. I’m passionate about crafting innovative, user-centered designs that bring real value to people’s lives—while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
When I’m not designing, you can find me cooking, sipping coffee, watching movies, or out on a run. I completed my first marathon at the Los Angeles Marathon in March 2025, and I’m currently training for my next one this November. ☻

A few words from the team's POV :)
Yubin Xi
UX Research | Human Factor Lead @ Snap Inc.
"Ellen is an outstanding industrial designer with whom I had the pleasure of working closely for nearly three years on smart eyewear development. During that time, Ellen consistently impressed me with her design excellence, collaborative spirit, and proactive approach.
Ellen’s design sensibility is truly exceptional. She has an extraordinary eye for detail and aesthetics—her work consistently demonstrated the kind of refined taste and execution I’ve seen only in the best designers at other large tech companies I have worked at. Her ability to translate user needs and technical constraints into beautiful, functional designs is remarkable.
Beyond her design talent, Ellen is a fantastic team player. We collaborated on multiple smart glasses prototyping projects, and she was always ready to contribute, building complex CAD models to support my human factors research needs. Her support was critical to our team’s success, and she never hesitated to lend her skills wherever needed.
Ellen is also deeply hands-on and resourceful. Whether it was building high-fidelity cosmetic models or sourcing materials under tight timelines, she always rolled up her sleeves and got the job done. During a product release, Ellen took it upon herself to produce high-quality renderings, going so far as to secure a high-performance hardware to ensure top-notch image quality. Her proactivity and follow-through made a significant impact.
In short, Ellen brings together creativity, technical skill, and a collaborative mindset in a way that is rare and incredibly valuable. I have no doubt she will be an asset to any design team, and I give her my highest recommendation and endoesement."

"Prototyping and model making are at the core of Ellen’s approach to product design. She brings an in-depth knowledge of fabrication disciplines that allows us to push the boundaries of what is possible in the model shop- She is an absolute joy to collaborate with!”
Joannna ClarkHead of Product @ True Brands
"Ellen has the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. She is well rounded from sketching, research, concepting, CAD, prototyping, vendor and manufacturing communication, and packaging. Ellen needed to wear many hats in her role and she did so with professionalism, humility, and dedication. She took ownership of executing most of the items for one of our top brands, and learned and taught others about a totally new material category. I personally loved managing Ellen for her candor, sense of humor, curiosity, and generosity. Ellen has matured and performed beyond her years of experience and I recommend her wholeheartedly."
John PrinsIndustrial Design Manager @ True Brands
"I was fortunate to work with Ellen Huynh during her internship at Progressive and again at True Brands. Her impressive work as an intern made it an easy choice to hire her for an Industrial Design position at True Brands. Ellen possesses much of what I value in a designer: a good artistic sense, solid sketching & drawing skills, a focus on the user, a curiosity about how things work, and a reliably positive attitude.
She is agile, able to change gears and work on a variety of projects in stride, from mood boards to competitor research to hands-on prototype work. During the times we worked together, she took on a wide variety of projects and product types, including household gadgets, food storage, drink ware, and soft goods. She is eager to learn and does so readily, both from those around her and from her ongoing experiences.
Ellen would be a valuable addition to any product design team. Along with her design talents, her strong work ethic and easy going manner make her a pleasure to work with. I would welcome the chance to work with her again."
Elmer Dela CrusCreative Director @ True Brands
"Ellen thrives in a collaborative atmosphere and I enjoyed seeing her conceptual sketches come to life. With the variety of brands we affect at True Brands, she was able to navigate different challenges and provide innovative and thoughtful work. Even though our practice groups were different, we shared similar philosophies in being very user centered and focused. That's a refreshing trait I don't see very often in younger designers. Her attitude and work ethic are contagious and made it very easy to come to work every day. I would love the chance to work with her again."
